Dear Mental Wealth UK Supporters
University Mental Health and Wellbeing Day takes place this Wednesday, 20th February.
As you will remember from our January Newsletter, we have teamed up with UMHAN (University Mental Health Advisers Network) to make University Mental Health And Wellbeing Day bigger and better in 2013. The national event was started last year by UMHAN to focus efforts on promoting the mental health of people who live and work in Higher Education settings. Many Universities, Students’ Union’s and Mental Wealth Groups have spent the last couple of months preparing some fantastic events. We’re delighted that many students found our info pack about the day useful in planning their activities. Don’t worry if your institution hasn’t been able to plan anything yet, or if you do not work at a University - it’s never too late to get involved and there are plenty of ways for everyone in the wider community to engage with this important initiative.
Read on to find out how you can help to build up the momentum and impact of University Mental Health Day...

1. Please share and join our ‘Thunderclap’
It takes just 20 seconds to sign up to the thunderclap (a mass Tweet and Facebook post) for University Mental Health Day. By joining you will become one of hundreds of people across the UK tweeting or posting about all at the same time! It’s a great way to spread the message to thousands of people that if they are struggling, they are not alone and support is available.
If we don't get 250 sign ups by the end of Tuesday 19th, it won’t get sent out at all, so publicising it is crucial and we need your help. The more people you can get to sign up the better. If you work in a university please encourage your colleagues and communications team to get behind this, and share it through mailing lists and your Facebook / twitter accounts. If you could sign up for it on both your Facebook and twitter accounts, that would be even better! Follow this link to join in:
