🕊️ NEW COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT 🕊️

From September 2025, The Isle of Wight College will be the first in the UK to offer a BA (Hons) in Seagull Communication & Whispering.

Developed in collaboration with local coastal experts, this innovative degree covers:
✅ Advanced chip protection techniques
✅ Understanding the psychology of seagull squawks
✅ Negotiation and non-verbal communication in seafront settings
✅ Hands-on placements in Shanklin, Ryde and Ventnor

Lead tutor Dr Gulliver Beak says: “It’s for anyone who's ever had their lunch stolen and thought… there must be a better way.”

🐾 PAWS OF WISDOM: A STUDENT-LED INITIATIVE

Our students are making a difference in the local pet community with their Young Enterprise project – Paws of Wisdom! 🐶📘

We have several entries this year and this particular team is developing a range of intelligent dog toys!

💡 Competing in the Young Enterprise programme, the students are not just learning about entrepreneurship but also making a positive impact on the Island. Their journey is already inspiring – and they’re just getting started!

📢 Future Forensic Experts in Action! 🔍⚖️

Our Forensic Science and Criminal Justice students recently put their investigative and legal skills to the test in an exciting mock trial exercise! 👩‍⚖️🕵️‍♂️

From crime scene analysis to courtroom advocacy, students took on roles as forensic experts, legal representatives, and witnesses—gaining real-world experience and building confidence in presenting evidence under pressure. 💼🔬
