*ARTS FESTIVAL*

Welcome to the first ever Loughborough University Arts Festival celebrating the creative arts at Loughborough. Over the ten days of the festival there is a packed programme of free talks, workshops, performances and exhibitions showcasing the work of our students, alumni and academics.

Greetings from your NEW COORDINATORS 2016/17
We hope you’re enjoying your holidays; we’re busy planning away for next year bubble events, including WORKSHOPS with professional poets! Watch this space for more updates as we approach the first event in December!
We also thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves so you know what we look like, feel free to add or message us if you have any questions!
Your first Coordinator is Lizzie Fedorowycz
Hello! I'm an English finalist EEP, and I warmed to SB straight away as a bare faced fresher when I watched the performances- since then I've performed every time and been to the SB workshops which have been fab- think it's a lovely way to get people out of their shell, and I luv 2 bust dem sick rhymes
And working with her will be Harriet Rose Brophy
Hi guys! I’m a second year psychology student. I fell in love with SB instantly; performing was the highlight of my first year at Lboro, and I loved listening to everyone’s different styles and stories. I love slam poetry, pizza and generally being a keeno. Hopefully you might see me around next year repping fellow disabled women in Lboros Women’s Network.
We both have some great ideas for next year, and are super excited to show you what we’ve been planning. Any feedback regarding the aspects from past SBS you’ve liked and the aspects you’d like to see improved would be incredibly welcomed.
We look forward to seeing you all next year and hearing more of your work!

Speech Bubble!! All you people that think spoken word isn't your scene...don't be too quick to rule this out! We see such a variety of performances- some verging on stand up while others are similar to rap, all are unique and brilliant in their own way! It's an awesome night out and a great way to get involved with uni events so bring your friends, grab a drink and enjoy!

The Student Wordsmith’s Awards Night

Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed the event last night! It was an outstanding set of open mic acts, with unwavering enthusiasm from the crowd. Just goes to show the range of talent we have here in the bubble!

Cecilia Knapp is doing a poetry workshop 5-6pm this Monday before the Speech Bubble event.

This is a really great opportunity to have a one-on-one with a successful young poet. You can pose any questions or just see how she approaches things creatively, before seeing her set live.
