We take the integrity of our elections very seriously. Your ability to cast a vote freely and fairly is paramount, and it's important to understand the boundaries that ensure your voting experience remains personal and secure.

Unacceptable Campaign Behaviours 🚫
During the election period, candidates and their campaign teams may reach out to share their platforms and engage in dialogue. While these discussions are encouraged, certain actions are not acceptable:

🚫 Touching your device while the voting platform is open: Your device is your personal space. No one should interfere with it during voting.
🚫 Continuing to interact with you after the voting platform is active: Once you begin voting, it’s time for privacy.
🚫 Watching or peering over your shoulder during the voting process: Your vote is confidential; no one should be observing.
🚫 Attempting to vote on your behalf: Voting is a personal right and responsibility.
🚫 Physically preventing you from leaving their campaign pitch: You have the right to disengage at any time.

📝 Academic Support with Assessment Tips:
Our officers have been actively engaging with students, offering valuable assessment tips and sharing personal experiences to aid academic progression. Your success is our priority!

📊 Promoting the National Student Survey (NSS):
Continued efforts to encourage all students to complete the NSS, gathering essential feedback to enhance the student experience at GCU.

🤝 Enhancing Class Rep Support:
Developing action plans to improve communication and support for class reps, ensuring effective representation and collaboration.

♿ Disability Project Board Review:

🎉 Reclaiming Valentine's Day at GCU! 🎉
Valentine's Day at GCU was all about celebrating love in its many forms—kindness, friendship, and community!

Over 40 students joined our vibrant event as part of Feel Fab February, enjoying games, live music, and meaningful conversations, free from romantic pressures. Highlights included a "Love Wall" for self-appreciation notes, engaging games like "Lemons with a Twist," and electrifying performances by Niamh Maclennan. It was a day of laughter and bonding, proving love isn't just about romance—it's about togetherness and fun. Thank you to all who made it special! 💖

Teaching Awards 2024 Ceremony

If you have medical or personal circumstances impacting on you during assessments you can use Fit to Sit to preserve your attempt until the re sit diet, you can do this 5 days prior or 48 hours after the assessment. Eligible voters will now need to show Identification, unfortunately your Student ID is not on the accepted identification list. However, the @nus_uk has teamed up with @citizencarduk to provide a FREE valid ID that you can use. It also works as a proof of age card (which normally costs £18). This is available by filling out a short form on the NUS website from the following link: https://www.nus.org.uk/citizencard You can also check if you are eligible to vote in a UK election by visiting: https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/register-vote-and-update-your-details#commonwealth We hope everyone that is eligible to vote does so when the time comes.
