We’ve got some exciting news to kickstart your fitness journey in 2025! Thanks to a successful campaign by your Students’ Association and working with the University, we’re thrilled to announce free access to both the ARC Gym and the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) starting January 27th, 2025. 🥳
Gone are the days of:
• £15 monthly gym membership fees
• £17 per hour MUGA booking charges
This incredible win means you can now focus on your fitness goals without worrying about your wallet. Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer or just curious about trying out the facilities, there’s never been a better time to get active at GCU. 💪
The Details:
• Simply show your student ID at the ARC reception.
• Book the MUGA through the usual system—minus the fees!
• Remember to cancel your direct debit with your bank going forward!
This achievement is the result of months of hard work championed by you and led by our Students’ Association President, Wilfred Obi, and Vice Presidents Friday Oshiotse, Tom Tom Osinubi, and Laiba Tareen. It’s all part of our commitment to ensuring every student has access to fitness facilities, regardless of financial circumstances.
Here’s to your health and wellbeing! 🏃♀️🏀
P.S. Spread the word—let’s make the most of these fantastic facilities and get moving together! 🎉

Eligible voters will now need to show Identification, unfortunately your Student ID is not on the accepted identification list. However, the @nus_uk has teamed up with @citizencarduk to provide a FREE valid ID that you can use. It also works as a proof of age card (which normally costs £18). This is available by filling out a short form on the NUS website from the following link: https://www.nus.org.uk/citizencard
You can also check if you are eligible to vote in a UK election by visiting: https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/register-vote-and-update-your-details#commonwealth
We hope everyone that is eligible to vote does so when the time comes. Every vote counts!
