Andrew Barton ABLE Launch
Nelson and Colne College Group (NCCG) has partnered with celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton to become an ABLE Centre of Excellence, making it the only education provider within a 20-mile radius to offer access to exclusive resources, masterclasses, and in-person training from Andrew himself.The Andrew Barton London Education (ABLE) programme is a structured, two-year scholarship designed to run alongside traditional hairdressing qualifications. Last week, our Motor Vehicle Apprentices at Accrington & Rossendale College welcomed Electude as they arrived on site with their Mobile Classroom Training Truck! 🚐 They showcased their amazing Vehicle & Electric Vehicle diagnostics simulator, giving our apprentices the opportunity to gain new skills and interact with live diagnostics and vehicle electrical systems & sensors ⚡️
The truck is equipped with a multitude of learning modules and interactive workshops to enhance the education of students in the Motor Vehicle sector. It can simulate components of Petrol & diesel engines, transmissions and drive systems, brake systems, steering suspension and trailers, electricity and electronics, air conditioning and accessories, preventative maintenance, hydraulics and more! 🙌
Our students will continue to use and learn from these training facilities, and will definitely benefit from them on their journey to #BeExtraordinary! 🌟 A massive thank you to Electude for the visit and for showcasing their outstanding facilities!

Meet Sam Watson, a second year PGCE student at the University Centre. 📚
Sam came from a construction background but wanted a change. "It just didn’t feed my soul and I was looking for something else." 👷♀️👩🏫
She began the Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills at Accrington and Rossendale which allowed her to progress onto the Foundation Degree in Counselling Studies and then the BA Counselling and Psychotherapy top up all whilst working full-time.👏🌟
Sam says: "I absolutely love teaching, it’s tough, it’s hard work but it’s totally worth it." 💪
