Our MSc student Klaudia has reflected on her time at the Business school. We are looking forward to welcoming Klaudia back to start her PhD

"Completing my master’s degree has been an incredibly rewarding and transformative experience. These years of study have allowed me not only to deepen my understanding of a field I am truly passionate about but also to grow both personally and professionally.

Every challenge I encountered along the way, every inspiring discussion with professors, and every collaboration with my fellow students made this journey unforgettable. I thoroughly enjoyed the learning process, which has broadened my horizons and shaped the person I am today. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and support I received during this time — from the knowledge I gained to the lifelong connections I’ve made.

Being part of such an enriching academic community has been an honour, and I look forward to the exciting challenges and opportunities that lie ahead."

Yesterday we were pleased to welcome colleagues from Bangor, Wales and Austria to present at our International Conference on Regeneration, Resilience, Health and Wellbeing.

With research collaborations we want to advance regeneration, resilience, and health and wellbeing research, policy and practice in urban and rural contexts.

One of our 2024 graduates, Bethany has spoken about her time at Aberystwyth Business School. She has also offered advice to new students

Mae Bethany, un o'n graddedigion yn 2024, wedi siarad am ei hamser yn Ysgol Fusnes Aberystwyth. Mae hi hefyd wedi cynnig cyngor i fyfyrwyr newydd

"Hi my name is Bethany and I recently graduated from Aberystwyth Business School with a first after spending some of the best years of my life at the University. I began my studies back in 2021 and was extremely nervous about the whole university experience. Luckily I was able to overcome all of these worries in the first few months thanks to how welcoming everyone in the Uni and wider town were. That’s one of my favourite things about Aber, how you really feel part of a community and the support you receive.

Within the business school my degree was centred around Marketing which I thoroughly enjoyed. There were definitely certain modules I enjoyed over others such as branding, digital marketing and marketing communications. This was purely due to the creative freedom these modules allowed me. I believe that my consistent success at the university was due to the support my lecturers provided me as I always knew that the help was there when I needed it, all you’ve got to do is ask!

When I wasn’t studying and rushing to finish an assignment (make sure you manage your time well guys), you could be sure to find me in the middle of the dance floor in pier 🤪 It’s extremely important to have a good work/life balance because assignment deadlines can get so full on that you need time to take a step back. Luckily there’s plenty to do in Aber, and the night life isn’t too bad either.

I’ve made some of the best friends in Aber and even though my time at the University is over I still feel a strong connection to both the town and uni. One last piece of advice is to make sure to enjoy your time in Aber because the three years go fast and push yourself out of your comfort zone, your confidence will improve so much!!"

Congratulations to our Dprof student Lisa who has been nominated for an award in the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction Awards and has been shortlisted as a 'Local Hero' for Wales.

“The application process was quite easy, I got help from the University staff who were really helpful and friendly.”

🗨️ Ashley joined Aberystwyth University through Clearing to study Law and Business Management. He shared his experiences of going through the Clearing process and choosing Aberystwyth as his place to study.

🎓 I applied through Clearing because I was in Zimbabwe, having only moved to the UK in April, all the deadlines had passed. I was excited to be given the opportunity to apply, because I was a bit nervous that I was going to have to wait until the following year.

🖥️ It was a very interesting experience; I was excited that I was getting to apply but also a bit nervous because it was something I had not done before.

📝 The application process was quite easy, I got help from the University staff who were really helpful and friendly, helping me with my application through UCAS, it all went really smoothly.

🤝 I’ve made a lot of friends on my course and within the societies. What I enjoy the most is that I get to meet different people from different backgrounds, it's always nice to learn about people's culture.

💡 My Top Tips for Clearing are:
• Research and decide what course to study
• Don’t panic
• Communicate with the staff
• Be patient
